The focus of our blog is on all those "Others" who seek the empowerment of small farmers and their communities throughout the developing world.
Our intention is build and share our understandings of those "Others" (what they think and why they think that way) to reveal new pathways to a more socially, environmentally and economically just future.

Project 1: The Organic Economy Shared Understanding and Shared Agreement Project
(a) the principles of the ‘Organic Economy' model which seek to provide the philosophical foundations for building ethically sustainable business models for trading in thePacific Region (b) the African Pacific business model (c) the African Pacific / Fairmatch business model, known as the Pacific Growers Export Partnership (PGEP) African Pacific Pty Ltd is defined by it's owner and founder, Andreas Lombardozzi, as abusiness with development outcomes using ethical, sustainable and fair principles. Reciprocity's work in this area involves building shared understandings and agreement amongstall stakeholders in the PGEP value chain of the foundational principles of theOrganic Economy and their operationalisaiton within associated businessmodels. Project 2: Building solidarity amongst La Via Campesina and Australian farmers
In late June 2010, Scott and Dianne assisted Food Connect and the Food Connect Foundation in their organisation of a visit by representatives from La Via Campesina (LVC), the forefront of the global peasant movement and Food Sovereignty. Scott and Dianne will continue to support Food Connect and the Food Connect Foundation in their future work in assisting family farmers to take back their own voice and develop solidarity with others in Australia and with La Via Campesina in their struggle against the liberalisation of agricultural trade.

Project 3: Food Sovereignty Study Tour of Venezuela July-August 2010
Dianne and Scott are heading off on a three week Study Tour looking at how Food Sovereignty is The study tour will examine land reform, urbanisation, rural development and foodsovereignty within the dynamic political context of the Venezuelan revolution. Edwards said: "Venezuela isan outstanding example of a country that strives to ensure its citizens' rightto food while bolstering its domestic agriculture sector, with an emphasis onorganic practices and agroecology." The study tour will also exploreother areas of social transformation, including education, health care anddirect citizen participation in the political process.
